Tight seating, marginal sound

Both bands, Samantha Fish and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, were very good. Lots of energy and lots of fun. This was offset somewhat by the really, really, tight seating arrangement and poor sound. The narrow folding chairs are tied together with zip ties creating long rows leaving fans crammed in like a cheap airline. I’m 5-11, approx. 230 lbs so I don’t expect to have a lot of elbow room at concert venues. That said, this seating arrangement is worse than any other venue I’ve been to. I take it as a slap in the face of fans who pay a premium price to be wedged in like canned sardines. The sound, very marginal. My seats for this show were very close to the back and near the bar. (Note: recommend avoiding seats near the bar. We had a hard time hearing the opening act due to the noise of the bar crowd and late arriving fans looking for their seats. This was better when the main act started as most fans were seated and a fabric screen was lowered in front of the bar. Not fixed, just better. Avoid these seats.). From the first note, the sound was not loud enough (partially due to bar and fan noise). The mixing seemed okay but we just could not hear the music well at all. The sound was louder during the headliners act but still not loud enough to overcome crowd noise. I sat nearer to the stage at a previous show this season where the sound was much better, but far from great. Maybe another reason to avoid seats in the back. Last thing, restrooms are too small. I don’t know what the womens room looks like but the mens room has 2 urinals and 2 or 3 stalls. The crowds are generally older. That often means lines at the restroom. My experience, 3 time I tried to pee but the line was more than 20 long. The 4th time I waited in a line of maybe 10. Just be aware that you might need to go to the restroom a bit earlier than usual to offset the lines. Not great. Especially for this premium, expensive venue. Overall, we had a good time but can’t help feeling that Humphreys profits are more important than the fan experience. Other concert venues become much more attractive when compared to Humphreys.
